say thank u as often as possible, say thank u to anyone who does anything for you whether you asked them to or not. being grateful does not make you look like you have a big ego, it does not make u look like ur boasting, playing it "Cool" rather than  being grateful for what u have is not the way to go. give thanks for what u have even if it's not what you wanted
